Man’s best frenemy. Inkbeard post #26
Man vs Machine
It has been the tradition time out of mind that Man will always have a stressed relationship with machines. Not only are they bigger and stronger, they also have learned to think for themselves, and that in itself is scary. When I speak of machines I refer, of course, to the androids and droids, the A.I., and those cyborgs who have gone over to the dark side. Not those mindless factory machines whose only purpose is to screw screws.
Fortunately for the human race, most of those mentioned above are only found in between the pages of science fiction novels and within the pixels of the movies. It is with these that my fascination often lies. The independent droids of Star Wars, mostly, but also others. I just forgot their names. Science fiction in general is my favorite genre of anything, and so that connection is a logical one.
The Art
For art this week I sketched some more. On Saturday my good friend came to visit, and we had a drawing party, something born from a shared preference for mutual non-chattiness. I was practicing my robotic arms, and had opened up Pinterest for some ideas. There are many types, from cyberpunk to post-apocalyptic to steampunk to biopunk. Lots of punks. Fascinating genres each in their own right. I only got through five before I got bored however, so the second page is somewhat empty.

Speaking of…
Speaking of sci-fi, I never got to working on my short story on Saturday, but I’m going to right after this, I promise doubly-so. I have had the minor revelation that my lack of motivation stems from boredom and disinterest. In order to fix this, I should attempt to make my comics more interesting. I don’t actually know what that looks like yet, but there we go.
Farewells
The clock runs short on the afternoon before my evening responsibilities must come to the forefront, and so I must draw this post to an end. I hope you enjoyed the art, dear reader, and I know for a fact that you can read. Be off with ye, and may the wind always be at your back.
